Our simulations often start by participants trying to understand the business they inherit.

Participants will do this firstly on their own. And as they start to analyse, they'll find there's too much information... but also not enough information... and definitely not enough time. But despite this, they’ll do their best and rough out an analysis.

We then ask the participants to discuss and agree a shared view. And this is where the fun starts.

Sometimes, often in fact, it doesn’t seem like people are looking at the same business.

We've seen this happen on every programme. People inherit the same information, but they don't inherit the same understanding. They notice different things, make different assumptions and attach different importance to what they see.
